I'm not dead, just busy...

Hey all,

Thanks for sticking with me through my insanity that is grad school.  Like the title of this post says, I'm not dead but I am very, very busy.  As such there won't be anything really new posted until December.  Then I'll have some time to paint, which is all I really need to anyway, and make a few minor repairs on models that suffered... minorly.

Thanks again and please look over the previous posts and comment away.  I check back at least once a week, and always reply to comments.

Take care and I can't wait for December,

Chris

  1. Hey I just discovered your blog and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your stuff. I have a quick question that if you could fit and answer too into your busy scheduled it would mean a lot. I was wondering exactly how you do the red armor? I'm working on a Word Bearers army myself and I just can't figure on how to do the armor right.

  2. Hey Rich, thanks for stopping by!
The red for Word Bearers, and red in general, can be very tricky to get right. I went through a lot of trial and error to find one I thought did the job. Look for the "Painting" label, there should be a color study and the recipes I use for red and silver.
The way I paint is a little labor intensive but it works for me. The best advice I could give you is get a marine you don't really care about to try a few things out... maybe a brown base coat which will give the red a different feel or maybe a yellow ink glaze to make the red really pop The great thing about 40k is that you really can paint an army how you want regardless of the actual force you pick.
